Roy Ayers Project Update: 2011 Reflection / 2012 Plans / Viewer Feedback

Peace to the Roy Ayers Project supporters.
The beginning of a new year means different things for everyone..anticipation, reflection, curiosity, eagerness. We, the Roy Ayers Project (70/30) crew would like to take some time to reflect on the year that was, and to talk about some things that you will see from us in the upcoming year.

2011 was a year where the Roy Ayers Project became bigger than just a documentary. We built our current site which presents not only Roy Ayers, it explores the “6 degrees of separation” of Roy Ayers, displaying his influence, his philosophy, and more. We have met (via online) some extremely talented beat makers from around the world, all of which are motivated and inspired by the music of Roy Ayers. We have made multiple trips to Los Angeles, where we interviewed a slew of people and personalities who are to be featured in the upcoming documentary. On of our Los Angeles trips included the crew meeting and interviewing Roy Ayers’ beautiful sister. These are just some of the things that we have experienced in 2011, and we are truly excited for what 2012 has in store.

In 2012, we would like to complete the documentary. It is a daunting task, but it is the goal we are striving to reach. The completion of the documentary depends on many factors, with scheduling specific interviews and fundraising at the top of the list. We hope that we can get all of the interviews we need so the documentary can begin to fall into place. In 2012, you can also expect to see more things from us like more merchandise, fundraising campaigns, our official trailer, possible festival appearances, and many other big announcements.

As we move into the new year, and as we approach our one year anniversary of royayersproject.com, I also want to take this opportunity to hear from you, the reader. We would like for you to give us feedback on the site, so we can make adjustments and improvements moving forward. In the form below, we would like for our readers and site visitors to voice their feedback by stating what you enjoy about the site, and one area where we can improve or what you would like to see more of on the site, as well as any other comments and feedback you wish to include (of course you are not obligated to write that, you can write whatever you want!). This is not an attempt to amass emails, this is simply used for us to see what you all like and what we may want to change. Also, you are not required to put your name, so your feedback can be completely anonymous.

As we begin on into the new year, we would like to thank all of the people who have made the Roy Ayers Project what it is today, and we recognize everyone who has put in work, from the crew, to the interviewees, Roy Ayers himself, to the bloggers, to personal friends and family, and many more, and last but not least, you, the audience. Without your participation, there would be no Roy Ayers Project. This project is far from finished, so we expect 2012 to be a huge year for us and the Roy Ayers Project.

Thank you,
Haylow.
