This is one of the best drum solos you’ll ever see is by Jazz great Jack DeJohnette, which was recorded at the 1997 Modern Drummer Festival. Quoted by Roy Ayers Project supporter Ndugu Chancler as one of his biggest inspirations, DeJohnette has played as a sideman for Jazz legends such as Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Henderson, and many more, and he continues to perform today. He is a living legend, and a glimpse of his greatness is demonstrated in this solo.
