Roy Ayers Project Update #16: LA Recap

We are fresh from our Los Angeles trip, and we had a productive one indeed. We didn’t get as many interviews as we did in New York, which was a bit disappointing, but the one’s that we did get were very insightful and memorable. We interviewed Houseshoes, known to the Hip Hop community as the Hip Hop Embassador of Detroit, Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, and LA Jay, the producer for the Pharcyde’s Passing Me By Remix. We Also interviewed Legendary drummer Ndugu Chancler, as well as bassist John B. Williams, both of which had some excellent stories about playing with Roy Ayers, as well as personal stories. Along with great interviews, we also got some spectacular photographs which will soon be viewable on the Roy Ayers Project site.

On some other big news for us, we released our second trailer right before our trip, and was featured on countless blogs and online publications. We were very proud to see our video and name mentioned, and we hope that the momentum keeps going. We will be working on our next trailer, which should be finished in a few weeks, and we have many more ideas in store, including summer time events, art shows, and much more.

Stay tuned…
